“Combinations of CoNi alloying and oxygen exposure are used in order to study the spin reorientation transition (SRT) in Ni/Cu(001). These modifications on the volume layers or on the surface layers may result in an increase or decrease of the critical thickness (t(c)) of the SRT, respectively. We present the study on the magnetic properties of the oxygen exposure on Co(5)Ni(95)/Cu(001) ultrathin films. For films with a thickness below t(c), a certain amount of oxygen exposure drives the SRT, whereas a large amount of oxygen demolishes the magnetization. For films with a thickness above t(c), the out-of-plane magnetization persists under a large amount of oxygen exposure. Two-domain-like state and coercivity enhancement are found in the hysteresis loops. The results

We present an unusual case of typical AV nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT) with high degree AV block in which the diagnosis was confirmed using a novel maneuver consisting of simultaneous atrial and ventricular (A + V) pacing. “We describe a turnaround technique for implantation of intrastromal corneal ring segments in eyes with femtosecond laser-assisted channel creation in which inappropriate surgeon maneuvering creates a false channel. The false channel causes difficulty in implantation as further forward maneuvering leads to enlargement of the false channel, finally precluding forward movement of the segment. This may result in suboptimal placement of the segment or abandoning the procedure.
